Lake Puckaway Dredge Bank Project Starting April 24th
The Lake Puckaway Dredge Bank project will begin on Monday, April 24th, at 7 AM. The construction schedule will begin that week for the delivery of rocks to be stored in the DNR lot to be utilized for the building of the bank. The barge, which will be utilized to move the rock to the new bank area in the lake, will commence operation at the Charlevoix boat launch beginning on May 1st. Trucking operations to deliver rock for the project will be ongoing for at least the next 30 days. Truck traffic will enter Village on 2nd street to the West and exit on 2nd street to the East.
Work Schedule:
Schedule for the project will be Monday thru Saturday 7 AM to 7 PM. For the week of April 24th the scheduled hours will only be for Monday thru Friday.
Impact to the Village:
The DNR lot and Charlevoix Boat Launch will be closed for the duration of this project. No Parking to be observed and marked from 2nd street to the Lake on Charlevoix. Additional No Parking will be observed and marked on both Front and Lake streets surrounding the DNR lot to allow for truck traffic. Based on the amount of rock required for the project, this will result in over 500 truckloads of traffic. Alternative Boat and Trailer Parking is being provided at the Marquette Historical Society parking lot, at the corner of 2nd and Charlevoix for the duration of the project, as the Lyons Street boat launch will be fully operational for boaters.
